A bastard book is “birthed” by an unmarried author. Throughout four chapters, themes of faith, family, hope, and habit are explored. He writes about hypotheticals, wishing to make his child(ren) proud one day, while reflecting upon his own heritage. Expectations are defined as a lifelong race and the author defines their own, setting a pace that is decided based on self care, future goals, and a reality that is inevitably shared with others. He races to retain purpose.
